Sustainability

Since 1927, Gallo has been committed to offering its customers high-quality yet eco-friendly socks, accessories and clothing. Gallo adopts a sustainability-attentive and focused policy that is aimed at continuous improvement.

Raw Materials

Gallo sources its yarns exclusively from suppliers whose certifications guarantee the protection of citizen's health, thereby ensuring product safety and transparency to the end consumer. More specifically, all yarns are STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX-certified and do not contain any harmful substances. Furthermore, the yarn suppliers always inform the company of any chemicals they have used, by providing accompanying safety data sheets to ensure that the dyes are not harmful to both people and the environment. As for the wools, all those used by Gallo boast the Mulesing Free certification, i.e. certified wool sourced from farms in which the sheep have not been exploited or mistreated in any way.

Social sustainability

Gallo's objective is to promote professional growth in safe environmental and working conditions, by providing its employees with the know-how needed to best perform their duties. The company believes that environmental and social responsibility represent the foundation for creating shared values that in turn, translate into a path of continuous growth and improvement.

Furthermore, for many years now, Gallo has been one of the main supporters of the Italian OVCI la Nostra Famiglia Non-Governmental Association; an organisation that since 1982, has been carrying out initiatives aimed at promoting human, social, technical and health development, by helping train and bolster the independence of developing-country citizens. The association implements health, education and training-oriented programmes, with particular focus on disabled people. OVCI's ultimate goal is to protect the rights of all children, especially those with disabilities who require specialist help and support.
